Dr. Shahnoor Khan graduated from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in India in 1994. After completing his dual residency in family medicine and psychiatry at West Virginia University Hospitals in December of 2003, Dr. Khan joined Martinsburg’s City Hospital as director of its psychiatry unit and started private practice shortly thereafter. He served as faculty at the West Virginia University School of Medicine for more than a decade and left City Hospital to serve veterans at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg in 2010.
Dr. Khan is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association and a dedicated psychiatrist with extensive experience in treating patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, dementia, depression, anxiety, dependence withdrawal and other substance issues.
More recently, Dr. Khan has brought access to Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy to the area. This is one of the greatest advances in modern psychiatry and neurology. TMS is a treatment program sought by those who prefer not to use medication or have not had an effective response to medications. It is a focused, non-systemic procedure, with minimal side effects or risks. It has shown fantastic results in patients with depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
Dr. Khan loves traveling and riding his Harley. He also enjoys hunting and fishing and any outdoor sports!
